About the Great Smoky Mountain Council

"Our mission is to achieve excellence in fostering the character development, worldwide citizenship, and the moral, mental and physical fitness of young people, and in other ways prepare them to make lifelong ethical choices by instilling the values found in the Scout Oath and Law."

One of over 300 local councils in the country, the Great Smoky Mountain Council is charged with administering the Scouting program in 21 counties across East Tennessee.

The values we strive to instill are based on those found in the Boy Scout Oath and Law.
